What would you gain having 17-55 vs 18-55?
The 18-55 IS kit lens is a pretty good lens so I'm not so sure you would see any real difference betwen photos taken with the 2.
Why not go for a 17-40mm F/4 L series? That plus your 50 and 80 give a good range of FL and the image quality from the L series would be noticeable over the 18-55 or 17-55.
