The name Nikon is synonymous with high-end photography. The world’s most successful photographers rely on Nikon’s quality cameras and equipment to deliver award-winning shots, and to snap history as it happens.
Nikon’s also famous for providing outstanding value. Their cameras are surprisingly affordable for the innovative features they offer, making professional photography available on any budget. A great example of Nikon’s affordability is listed on the Nikon D7000 price tag.
The Nikon D7000 price is below $2000, which is pretty incredible once you start thinking about it. This camera is one of Nikon’s latest models, and yet it’s priced to compete with some of their older ones. The Nikon D7000 price is right in line with cameras like the D90, which has been out for a few years and boasts far fewer features.
On the other end of the spectrum, the Nikon D7000 price is flanked by the D300S – Nikon’s “flagship” camera in this range. Looking at how the D7000 outperforms both of these cameras, it’s hard to believe that the Nikon D7000 price fits squarely between them.
Our Nikon D7000 review uncovered some serious features included in this camera, which anyone but Nikon would charge through the nose for. For example, the Nikon D7000 is one rugged camera. Its body is made from metal, rather than the flimsier polycarbonate most cameras in its class are constructed from. It’s also designed to handle rugged and outdoor conditions, which most cameras aren’t. To get your camera to perform in the rain or other rugged situations, it usually requires all kinds of extra accessories – and lots of extra cost.
Among the other features that should affect the Nikon D7000 price is a smart auto-focus (AF) sensor, which locks on with 39 points. By comparison, the Nikon D90 only features 11. Auto-focus goes a long way in ensuring your shots stay sharp while you’re on the move, and the D7000 pulls that off perfectly.
The Nikon D7000 price doesn’t seem to account for any of the bonuses that make this camera special, which really makes you feel like you’re getting this camera for a steal. When it comes to pairing value with quality, nobody touches Nikon.
