Noise Reduction using Stacks in Photoshop

in News

Stacking is great for removing noise! I used a product called AIP4WIN which is specifically used for astronomical . It's available from Willman-Bell http://www.willbell.com/aip4win/AIP.htm

It takes each of the color channels and converts them to 32 bits/color and to a separate image (if desired) for processing to prevent blowing out of
any particular color. This is good since you may be stacking hundreds of images. When it re-creates the images it converts the colors back to 8 bits/color. It's probably a bit smarter than PhotoShop when it comes to alignment since it's designed to compensate for frame rotation and will use either one or two points for alignment. For "normal" photos Photoshop is probably the better option.

The most important question that you have to ask yourself is “What do I need in a digital camera?” as that will ultimately decide the features you need to look for.
